I'm not an accountant, or even a bookkeeper, I'm a photographer. I am a successful 'professional' photographer and I make my living at it so I do know a thing or two about good business software. Since I work on a Mac, I need software that runs on a Mac (before you think that is exclusively for Mac, read the section called MoneyWorks).

A short time ago I needed to upgrade my computer and found that my existing accounting software had abandoned support in Canada and would not run on the new Intel Macs (they don't support Classic mode), so I had to find new accounting software. I'm sure many of you are familiar with that scenario.

After many long nights of searching, I found a company, Cognito Software out of New Zealand, that created the MoneyWorks line of accounting software. Since NZ also works on a GST based tax collection, it suits our Canadian methods to a 'T'. In fact, they also incorporated PST and HST just for us!

I downloaded the trial (available though the product links above) and gave it a run-through. I was so impressed with the software that I bought the company! Just kidding - I've always wanted to say that. But seriously, I was impressed and so became an official ReSeller.
